 Surtitles
At Opera Providence, not only can you enjoy the beauty of the language in which an opera was written, but now you'll understand it too!  Operas that are sung in their original languages (Italian, German, French) are presented with "supertitles" - English translations of the singing and dialog that are projected above the stage using state-of-the-art computer technology.  Just like subtitles at a movie, supertitles help the audience follow along quickly and easily.  So, while you're captivated by the performers, supertitles will keep you hanging on every word. 

Before you arrive at the theater, you may wish to familiarize yourself with the story and characters.  You'll know what's going on and have a much better time!
