Opera Providence celebrates the spring season with Viva Verdi!, an opera-dinner event devoted to Giuseppe Verdi, otherwise known as “Joe Green.”
Featuring Jessica Copper, soprano, Rene de la Garza, baritone and Fredric Scheff, tenor, accompanied by OP music director Timothy Steele; Hosted by Loriana De Crescenzo, Executive Director of Opera Providence.
WHEN: Wednesday, March 22nd, 2006 ; 6:00 pm cocktails,
6:30 pm dinner followed by the performance
WHERE: Metacomet Country Club, 500 Veterans Memorial Parkway. East Providence, Rhode Island.
This comfortable country club is only a 10 minute drive from downtown Providence and has plenty of ample parking!
MORE: Your attendance will also help educate, mentor and inspire underserved children and youth. Viva Verdi is a fundraiser for the OPERAtunity education and outreach programs of Opera Providence which have served more than 30,000 since 1998. OPERAtunity offers professional opera performances, as well as arts integration, after school and enrichment programs for students in grades K-12.

OPERAtunity has brought its programs to a diverse school-based population including Rhode Island’s core urban districts and students in suburban and rural settings. Programs include artist-in-residence and after school multi-session projects, outreach, in-school performances, main-stage professional performances, interactive assemblies and performances in cross collaboration with other non-profits. The OPERAtunity education and outreach program has reached over 30,000 children, youth and adults throughout the state of Rhode Island since 1998.
· Opera Spectacular! April 1st at 8:00 pm and April 2nd at 3:00 pm at the Columbus Theatre.
Twelve rising operatic stars from Opera Providence perform non-stop operatic favorites in an event destined to thrill audiences with soaring melodies and compelling passion and drama.
· Pre-show or after show dinners: Gather up some friends to enjoy a four course meal at a nearby private club.
