Guy Abelson Catering When it comes to planning an event, you want someone who understands your needs and goals. Guy Abelson Events grew out of his clients' desire to put him exclusively in charge of their events from start to finish and to give visibility to what he had essentially been doing for over 30 years. Guy Abelson uses his unique background in interior design, restaurants and catering to bring a unique style and impeccable organizational skills to your event. Having started his first restaurant and catering company "Café in the Barn" in 1973, Guy went on to open three other restaurants and to bring his catering company to be one of the largest in Southern New England. "Organization skills, patience, great negotiator, artistic, knowledge of protocol, ability to soothe jangled nerves" are just a few words that describe Guy. These comments come from many thank you notes they have received throughout the years. In fact, Guy Abelson Events generate more business from referrals than all other sources combined.
Rue de l'Espoir Rue De L'Espoir first opened its doors in 1976, "the new kid on the block," according to Deborah Norman, in a city with only a few steak houses, Chinese restaurants, and pizza shops. Now "The Rue," as the Providence institution is fondly known by a loyal and ever-expanding clientele, has grown and matured along with Rhode Island's changing culinary scene. Starting out as a quiche-and-crepe bistro, The Rue now specializes in fresh regional cooking, with influences borrowed from France, Italy, and Asia. The restaurant has received attention in numerous travel books and magazines, including Esquire, Bon Appétit, Food and Wine, Victoria, Weekending in New England, Fodor's New England, and even This Old House.
